CARY — James Henry Cubit Sr. died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 65.

A resident of Cary, Mr. Cubit was a farmworker. He was a member of New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton and the Rolling Fork Jubilee Gospel Group.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Marie Washington; his mother, Frankie Parker; and his father, Clarence Cubit Jr.

He is survived by two sons, Sammie Lee Cubit and James Henry Cubit Jr., both of Cary; one daughter, Ray Helen Cubit of Rolling Fork; two brothers, Albert Cubit of Onward and Joseph Cubit of Rolling Fork; two sisters, Alberta Cubit of Valley Park and Evelyn Cubit of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
