Lady Vikes, Gators run well at JPS meet|Cross country

Warren Central placed three runners in the top five en route to a second-place finish at the girls’ JPS meet held at Choctaw Trails. Hannah Register took top honors on the 2.5 mile course with a time of 17:58. Second was WC’s Condrea Collins with a time of 18 minutes. Fourth was Sakita Shelton with a time of 18:34.

Taylor Tomason was Vicksburg High’s top runner. She finished 57th.

In the boys race, Walter King was WC’s top finisher in fourth place in a time of 19:09. Vicksburg High had five runners place in the top 19 and finished second to Brandon in the team standings.

Chucky Hayden, Caleb White and William Brokaw finished 10th through 12th, respectively, for the Gators. Kyle Davidson was 16th and William McCoy 19th.

Warren Central and Vicksburg will both run in the WC meet on Sept. 26 in Bovina. The meet will begin at 9 a.m.
