Meeting Monday, Warren County supervisors:
• Set Oct. 19 as the date to accept public comment on a proposed policy to allow residents to petition for speed humps in residential neighborhoods.
A key issue how many signatures are needed to have traffic control measures built and eligibility of voters.
• Awarded a $310,244.50 construction bid to Natchez-based Dozer LLC to replace the small bridge across Glass Bayou where Cherry Street ends and Fort Hill Drive begins. The project has been in the works for nearly four years because of a right-of-way acquisition involving heir property.
• Accepted phase two of Falcon Ridge and a letter related to the first phase of Eastvillage, procedural steps under the subdivision ordinance.
• Authorized contracts for uniforms in the road department and mosquito control supplies and to renew an existing contract for phone services that allow jail inmates to make collect calls.
• Appointed Vicksburg Fire Department Deputy Chief Kenneth Daniels to the Central Mississippi Emergency Medical Services District board.
• Appointed District 4 Supervisor Bill Lauderdale to the Delta Council Development board of directors.
• Authorized a check to Rayburn & Associates for $2,062.50 for administrative services in the 2008 HOME program and another for $28,750 to Latoria M. Kerr, pending receipt of funds from the Mississippi Development Authority. The check was the first down payment for a home obtained as part of the first-time homebuyer program.
