SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — J.N. Smith died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at his home. He was 88.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Smith of Scottsboro; two sons, J.N. Smith Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., and Thomas L. Smith of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Beverly Wright of Moulton, Ala.; a stepson, Mark Hancock of Madison, Ala.; a sister, Evelyn Rochelle of Huntsville; four grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Scottsboro Funeral Home in Scottsboro with the Rev. Keith Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Paint Rock Cemetery in Paint Rock, Ala. Visitation is tonight from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
