Bobbie Pettway Brent

Mrs. Bobbie Pettway Brent died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at her home. She was 73.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Echols and Madie Worthy Pettway.

Mrs. Brent retired from Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant as a data entry clerk. She was a member of Open Door Bible Church and was active with the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two children.

She is survived by her husband, John Harvey Brent of Vicksburg; sons, Michael Hampton of Hattiesburg and Alan Hampton of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Doris Tart and Carolyn Redditt, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Carl Pettway and Milton Pettway, both of Vicksburg, and Raymond Pettway of Baton Rouge; and granddaughter, Mellissa Hampton of Petal.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George Hammit officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Redditt, Howard Johnson, Jack Pace, Bubba Bowen, Bill Brent and Ed McKnight.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Pettway and Buck Wilds.
