City man found with burglary tools at airport

A Vicksburg man was arrested at the Vicksburg Municipal Airport early this morning after patrolmen responded to a report of someone walking around the airport wearing dark clothing.

Victor Hilderbrand, 49, 10510 U.S. 61 South, was charged with possession of burglary tools at 1:39 a.m. after police spotted him with a flashlight, wire cutting pliers and a small hacksaw, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Hilderbrand was being held at police headquarters without bond pending an initial court hearing and for the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Stewart said.

4-wheeler, chain saws among missing items

An all-terrain vehicle and chain saws were among items reported missing in Warren County Sunday, reports showed.

A yellow 2008 Honda 4-wheeler valued at $7,500 and four Husqvarna chain saws valued at $1,200 each were reported stolen from a home in the 15000 block of U.S. 61 South at 9:18 a.m.

A red Honda generator valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from a home in the 7800 block of Campbell Swamp Road at 1:30 p.m.

A Savage single barrel single-shot shotgun was reported stolen from a home in the 500 block of Shell Beach Road at 6:05 p.m.

SUV reported stolen on Demby Drive

In Vicksburg, a sports utility vehicle and an amplifier were among items reported missing during the weekend, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

A 200-watt Rockford Fosgate amplifier valued at $250 and a set of 12-inch Kicker speakers valued at $200 were reported missing from a 1998 Toyota Tacoma in the 1500 block of Bodley Street at 6:45 a.m. Friday.

An Alpine MP3/CD player valued at $350 was reported stolen from a Ford Contour in the 200 block of Hillside Drive at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

A 2002 Ford Explorer with tag number WAW637 and valued at $12,000 was reported stolen in the 200 block of Demby Drive at 7:55 a.m. Saturday.

A purse and contents valued at $75 were reported stolen from a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot of a business at 2172 Iowa Blvd. at 9:28 p.m. Saturday.

A Litin .38-caliber handgun valued at $150, a box of .38-caliber ammunition valued at $30 and a Timex watch valued at $75 were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Falk Steel Road at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Two men injured in one-car wreck

Two Vicksburg people were injured in a one-car accident Sunday night.

Bobby Comans, 30, and Tim Comans, 17, both of 5626 Gibson Road, were taken to River Region Medical Center at about 8:33 p.m.

The passengers were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

The wreck was at Scott Road and Mississippi 27; no other wreck information was available.
