Juanita J. Pierce

Mrs. Juanita J. “Miss Buddy” Pierce died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at her home in Brandon. She was 67.

A native of Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Percy P. and Irma Lee Jeffers Boell. She retired from Waterways Experiment Station as a computer analyst after some 23 years.

Mrs. Pierce had made her home in Brandon for the last seven years. She was an active member of the Antique Vehicle Club of Mississippi, the Elks Lodge and the Denim Dancers, where she also taught line dancing.

Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy Pierce; brother, Percy; and a grandchild and a nephew.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her stepdaughter, Katrina Bounds of Mexia, Texas; brothers, Bill Boell of Calhoun City, Larry Boell of Jackson and John Garnett of Port Gibson; and three grandchildren, Danielle Mitchell, John McClinton and Regan Bounds.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Robertson officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bernard Harrgill, Bo Palmer, Jerry Harden, Fred Dixon, James Brooks, David Schever, George Raworth and Mike Conn.

Honorary pallbearer was Tommy Jeffers Jr.
