PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Rev. Grady Sowell died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at his home in Phoenix, Ariz. He was 81.

Rev. Sowell was pastor at several churches in Mississippi and had served at Porters Chapel United Methodist Church of Vicksburg from 1980 until 1988.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sowell; two sons, Alan Sowell and Jimmy Sowell; his parents; and a number of siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Sowell Logue of Goodyear, Ariz., and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, Miss. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
