Cool, crisp and colorful

As if the spider lilies blooming all across Vicksburg aren’t enough of a sign that winter’s on the way, the city’s overnight low temperature, 50, was only 6 degrees from the record of 44 set in 1895. Across the river at the Vicksburg Tallulah Regional airport in Mound, the National Weather Service said the temperature fell to tie the record of 46 set in 1967. The lilies here, a traditional sign that crisper air is on the cusp, were in front of the Old Court House Museum Tuesday afternoon.
