Nathaniel Mayfield died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 53.

A Warren County native, Mr. Mayfield was employed in farming. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Mayfield; a brother, Sammy Lee Mayfield; his maternal grandparents, Mamie and John Ware; and his paternal grandparents, Josephine and Woodson Mayfield.

He is survived by one daughter, Theresa Green Mayfield of Dallas; his mother, Mary W. Handy of Vicksburg; and three sisters, Mary Azebedkhai and Betty Bowman, both of Jackson, and Flora Lee Mayfield of Vicksburg.
