Dr. Johnston, Miss McCaig marry in Alabama

Dr. Bryan Irby Johnston and Victoria Lynn McCaig were married at 6 p.m. Aug. 1, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Tallassee, Ala. The Rev. Glen Pugh officiated at the ceremony. 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Lee McCaig Jr. of Tallassee. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Russell Davidson of Hueytown, Ala., and the late James Hoyt Dawson and Mrs. Delmar Lee McCaig Sr. of Tallassee and the late Delmar Lee McCaig Sr.

The groom is the son of Dr. Walter Easterling Johnston Jr. and the late Maxine Irby Johnston of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGriff Irby Jr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Walter Easterling Johnston Sr., all of Vicksburg.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were pale green and ivory. 

Matron of honor was Leigh Anne McCaig Butler, sister of the bride, of Tallassee. Maid of honor was Lauren Myers of Birmingham, Ala. Bridesmaids were Laura Katherine Johnston and Jennifer Lynne Johnston McMillin, sisters of the groom, of Vicksburg; Candace Taylor Benson and Sima Lal Gupta, both of Atlanta; Tara Moore Hendrix of Birmingham; Margot Danzig Medved of Boston, Mass.; Kenzie Ingram Morton of Madison, Ala.; and Mary Catherine Richardson Phillips of Montgomery, Ala. 

Georgia Anne Butler, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. 

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Richard Leake Johnston of Miami, Fla., and Michael Rhodes Johnston of Baton Rouge, brothers of the groom; David Raymond Collins II of Ocean Springs; Lester Wayne Johnson Jr. of New Orleans; Sydney William Johnston III of Vicksburg; Dr. Matthew Bradley Massey of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Dr. Charles Ramsey McCollum III of Jackson; Dr. Jason Trippe McNeese of Ridgeland; and Walter Albert Simmons Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.

A reception followed the ceremony at The Trophy Room.

Following a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Birmingham.
