Johnny Lee McGregor

Mr. Johnny Lee McGregor died at home Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. He was 58.

A native of Sarepta, Miss., he had made his home in Vicksburg since 1969. He was a retired engineering technician for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley “Junior” and Nelta Lee Zinn McGregor; and his wife, Mary Edna McGregor.

Mr. McGregor is survived by his wife, Donna Campbell McGregor of Vicksburg; two sons, Ian Scott Derrick of Vicksburg and Justin Wesley McGregor and wife Amber of Memphis; a stepdaughter, Dana Louise Derrick of Vicksburg; a granddaughter, Sarah Kathleen McGregor of Memphis; and a sister, Jo Ann Smith and husband George of Wears Valley, Tenn.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home with Brother Tim McMillian and Brother Keith Benefield officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.
