A man wanted for multiple child rape and molestation charges in Tennessee was arrested on Alcorn Drive Tuesday by U.S. Marshals and Warren County deputies.

Henry F. Sanders, 46, address not given, is accused of four counts of rape of a child and six counts of sexual battery of a child under age 13, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He was arrested at about 4 p.m. at a friend’s home at 2727 Alcorn Drive Apartment 94, where he apparently had been living, Pace said.

Sanders was in the Warren County Jail today without bond awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

Woman surrenders on forgery charge

A Vicksburg woman surrendered at police headquarters Tuesday night on an uttering a forgery charge, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Ruby Harris, 26, 4114 N. Washington St., is accused of cashing a $849.69 counterfeit check at F&G Beverages, 1707 Washington St., on Sept. 14, Stewart said.

“We had talked to several family members and been by her house looking for her,” he said.

Harris was being held without bond at the Issaquena County jail pending an initial court appearance.

Canton woman injured in wreck on I-20

A Canton woman was injured in a one-car accident that halted traffic for nearly an hour on Interstate 20 Tuesday night.

Alisha Hartwell, 34, 147 Link Drive, was taken to River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said. She was then transferred to University Medical Center in Jackson, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Hartwell was one of two women in a 2004 Dodge pickup that ran off the interstate into the median and hit a tree west of the weigh station at about 6 p.m., Pace said.

“It took some time for the Vicksburg Fire Department to take one passenger out,” Pace said.

Traffic was blocked with emergency vehicles and equipment for nearly an hour, he said.

Details on the second passenger were not available.
