Services for James Smith Reed Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Travis Chapel A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow at Lynches Chapel Cemetery, Redwood. Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mr. Reed died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 54.

Mr. Reed was a 1972 graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Jackson State University. He was a veteran of the Army and worked as a computer systems analyst/contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member and trustee of Travis A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Claudette Reed.
