Services for Manuel Bland Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Rock of Ages M.B. Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mr. Bland died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at his home. He was 86.

He was retired as a truck driver for Waterways Experiment Station. He was a member of New Rock of Ages Church, where he had served as chairman of the deacon board. He was a member of Paragon Lodge No. 7 F&AM.
