City teen held in auto burglary

A Vicksburg teen was arrested for auto burglary and daytime curfew violation Friday.

The 16-year-old is accused of taking three CDs valued at $10 each from a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner in the 1500 block of Walnut Street, which was reported at 1:42 p.m. Friday,  police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

During the arrest, patrolmen recovered the property, which was returned to the owner. The teen was at the Warren County Youth Detention Center, Stewart said.

Purse, cash missing from SUV on Openwood

A purse, CDs, and a handgun were among items reported missing in Vicksburg during the weekend, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

A black Gucci purse valued at $200 as well as $120 were reported stolen from a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban in the 1300 block of Openwood Street at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

About $5 in change and $1 bills were reported stolen from a 1998 Ford Expedition in the 3000 block of Second Street at 1:36 p.m. Friday.

A Lorcin .380 caliber handgun valued at $150 was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Eastover Drive at 11:01 p.m. Saturday.

Woman nabbed on cheating charge

A Jackson woman was in the Warren County Jail today on a felony cheating charge, records showed.

Patricia M. Harris, 53, 5344 Clair St., was arrested by the Mississippi Gaming Commission at about 2 Sunday morning and was released from the Warren County Jail that evening on $1,500 bond.

Door, stereo, GPS missing in county

In Warren County, a stereo and GPS were among items reported missing during the weekend, records showed.

A JVC car stereo valued at $65 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Dusty Road at 12:10 Sunday afternoon.

A Garmin GPS valued at $160, a Passport radar detector valued at $150, a Canon Powershot camera valued at $150 and a Ghent auto dealership credit card valued at $50 were reported stolen from a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado in the 100 block of Dusty Road at 11:27 a.m. Sunday.

A garage door valued at $1,000 was reported damaged at a home in the 50 block of Hilton Road at 7:45 a.m. Sunday.

Axe cologne and about $30 were reported stolen from a 2007 Pontiac G6 in the 4300 block of Shenandoah Road at 10:02 p.m. Friday.

A Spanish door valued at $800 was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Knowland Place at 10:50 a.m. Friday.

City teen injured in one-car wreck

A Vicksburg teen was injured in a one-car accident on Oak Ridge Road Saturday.

Megan Stauts, 15, 409 Lakeside Drive, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.

Andrew Thrash, 16, 4110 Oak Ridge Road, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup when he lost control about a mile north of Tucker Road, Sheriff Martin Pace said. Thrash was not taken to the hospital.
