Freddie Lou Haworth

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Freddie Lou Haworth of Fayetteville, N.C., died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009.
She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., on March 23, 1906. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1927, Freddie Lou taught school. In 1928, she married Swan Haworth who was a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Swan predeceased Freddie Lou in 1996.
Funeral services were held at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation was from 10 to 11:15 a.m. in the Gathering Hall of the church.
Mrs. Haworth is survived by a daughter, Martha Lou Smith and husband R.T. of Fayetteville; three sons, David Haworth and wife Doris of Vicksburg, Richard Haworth and wife Judy of Burlington, N.C., and Rob Haworth of Chevy Chase, Md. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Freddie Lou lived a full life. She was a good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a great pastor’s wife.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, c/o The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305.
