TULSA, Okla. — Lester Lydell Johnson Sr. died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at his home. He was 52.

Mr. Johnson was formerly of Vicksburg and a graduate of Warren Central High School. He was head coach at Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Walterine Johnson Wildee; and his grandparents, Walter and Gertrude Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Johnson of Tulsa; a son, Lester “Skip” Johnson Jr. of Tulsa; four daughters, Chanel Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Jennifer Johnson and Denise Johnson, all of Tulsa; three sisters, Senobia Faye Bunch, Shirley Williams and Jackie Ferguson, all of Vicksburg; four brothers, James Wildee Jr., Malcolm Carson and A.J. Carson, all of Vicksburg and Roderick Johnson of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Christian Center in Tulsa with Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors in charge. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Thursday and a wake will be held from 6 until 7.
