Martha Valentine Wesley died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 67.

Mrs. Wesley was a resident of Vicksburg. She was retired from River Region, where she worked as a dietary cook for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Lee Jones Jr.; two brothers, Freddie Valentine and James Valentine; two sisters, Cora Smith and her twin, Mary Gray; and her parents, Henry Valentine Sr. and Naomi W. Valentine.

Survivors include her husband, Odell Wesley of Vicksburg; three sons, Ronny Valentine and Frederick Valentine, both of Vicksburg, and Tyree Valentine of Las Vegas; seven daughters, Elneedia Valentine, Walneedia V. Dorsey, Neomia Valentine, Dorothy Valentine, Sandra Leigh Wesley and Jennifer Valentine, all of Vicksburg and Leisa Valentine of Columbus; four sisters, Naomi Patterson and Theresa Baily, both of San Diego, and Katherine Brooks and Eugenia Murphy, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Ross Valentine of Vicksburg and Henry Valentine of Buffalo, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends, including the Bunches, Byrds and Williams families.
