Elizabeth C. Allen died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. She was 79.

Born in Birmingham, Ala., she had been a resident of Vicksburg most of her life. Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Milton A. Carney and Ruby Rushing Carney. She was a graduate of Carr Central High School.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Ladies of the Lake Chapter Red Hat Society, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and the Eagle Lake Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna A. Stephenson and her husband, Al Bandur, of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Tommy Allen Jr. and his wife, Paulette, of Eagle Lake; four grandchildren, Beth McDonald, Cindy Cachat, Jamie Stephenson and Bradley Stephenson; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Ratcliff, David Cachat, Angus McDonald and Maisri McDonald; a brother-in-law, Elmo S. Allen Jr. of Jackson; and other family members, including Pearl Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Allen Sr.; and two brothers, Joseph Carney and James Carney.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lauren Porter officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Sheriff Martin Pace, T.J. Conrad, Walker Jones, Bradley Stephenson, Al Bandur and Ed McDonald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dorothy Butts, Jack and Frances Branning, Tom and Dot McClenic, Robert and Karleen Theobald, Linda Sims, Bill and Jo Ann Parker, Charles Watson, Earl and Diane Wallace, B.J. Shows, Huell and George Sills, Chris and Polly Antoine, Leroy Williams, members of the Lake Chapter Red Hat Society and members of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
