The Mississippi State Fair, which had been set to wrap up Sunday, will be extended to Monday because of the rain that has plagued Central Mississippi all week, fair officials announced Friday.
The fair will run from 9 a.m. to midnight today and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. On Monday, it will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking and admission will be free until 1 p.m. Afterward, a discounted price of $2 will be offered on admission, parking, rides and food items, which had all been in the $5 range.
The forecast through Monday calls for sunny, crisp days and cool, clear nights. Expect highs in the 50s and 60s and lows in the upper-30s and low-40s.
