Mr. Torrain, Miss Bridges are wed

Danny Mariece Torrain and Georgia Lynn Bridges were married at 7 p.m. Aug. 8, 2009, in a private outdoor ceremony at Cedar Grove Mansion. The Rev. Leon Nelson Jr. officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bridges of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Joseph Bridges and the late Francis Bridges of Alabama and Florencia Saldana and the late Jose Saldana of Tallulah.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Torrain Jr. of Port Gibson. He is the grandson of the late David Sr. and Roberta Torrain and the late Rev. William and Ethel Walker, all of Port Gibson.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were white, coral and pool blue.
Matron of honor was Lisa Hearn, sister of the bride, of Redwood. Maid of honor was LaShonna Nicholas of Clinton.
The groom’s brothers, David Torrain III of McKinney, Texas, and Danté Torrain of Lithia Springs, Ga., served as best men.
Flower girl was Alyssa Torrain, daughter of the bridal couple, of Vicksburg. Ring bearer was Luke Hearn, nephew of the bride, of Redwood.
Special attendants were Julie Baugh, cousin of the bride, of Raymond and Cori Gordin, sister of the bride, of Natchez.
Following the ceremony, members of the bridal party celebrated at El Sombrero. A reception will be hosted by the groom’s parents in Port Gibson in November.
The couple spent the wedding night at Cedar Grove Mansion.
They will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is a cage cashier at Riverwalk Casino, and the groom is an electrician with LeTourneau Technologies.

The bride was honored with a shower at Shoney’s hosted by Lisa Hearn and LaShonna Nicholas.
On the eve of the wedding, Lisa Hearn and LaShonna Nicholas honored the bride with a surprise party at Rainbow Hotel.
