A look at how college football players with ties to the Vicksburg area did in games played over the weekend

• Millsaps defensive end John Robert Burnett (St. Aloysius) assisted on five tackles in a 47-36 loss to Huntingdon College on Saturday.

• Delta State linebacker Jesse Pedyfoot (Warren Central) had one solo tackle, four assists, and one tackle for loss in a 34-24 loss to North Alabama on Thursday.

• Delta State defensive back Garrett Williams (South Delta) assisted on two tackles in the loss to North Alabama.

• Mississippi State linebacker Marvin Bure (Vicksburg High) had one solo tackle in a 27-6 victory at Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.

• Southern Miss safety Chico Hunter (Warren Central) had four solo tackles and an interception in a 36-16 victory over Memphis.

• Jackson State wide receiver Anthony Mayes (Hinds AHS) caught two passes for minus-22 yards in a 19-17 loss to Texas Southern.

• Nicholls State running back A.J. Williams (Hinds AHS) had 182 all-purpose yards in a 34-30 loss to Texas State. Williams carried the ball 11 times for 119 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown run; caught one pass for five yards; and returned four kickoffs for 58 yards.

• Louisiana-Monroe cornerback Otis Stamps (Warren Central) had one solo tackle and two assists in a 16-10 win over Arkansas State on Tuesday.

•Mississippi College linebacker Quartez Ashmore (Vicksburg High) had a team-high 11 solo tackles and one assist in a 17-14 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor.

•Mississippi College receiver Austin Divinity (Hinds AHS) returned two punts for 19 yards, and three kickoffs for 64 yards in the win over Mary Hardin-Baylor.

•North Texas defensive tackle Kelvin Jackson (Port Gibson) assisted on one tackle in a 44-40 loss to Florida Atlantic.
