HERMANVILLE — James Willie Anderson died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at his home in Claiborne County. He was 83.
Mr. Anderson was owner and operator of Few Acres Grocery store for more than 50 years. He was a gardener and fisherman. He was a member of Midway Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Floyce Strong Anderson of Hermanville; two daughters, Elsie Hood of Hazlehurst and Barbara Thornton of Brandon; five sisters, Edna Davis of Brandon, Bonnie Skates of McComb, Mollie Newbaker of Colorado, Irene Wright of Raymond and Alice Humphries of Natchez; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with Donnie Cain officiating. Burial followed at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Dentville, Miss.
Pallbearers were James Hood, Sean Thornton, Scott Thornton, Roger Wright, Billy Skates, Jack Ross, Bruce Humphries and Robert Humphries.
