ANGUILLA — Andrew Byron “A.B.” Brown Jr. died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 90.
A native of Colony Town, Miss., Mr. Brown had lived in Anguilla for many years. He was a retired farmer and owner/operator of a Gulf service station in Anguilla.
He was very active in his community and church. He was a past president of the Anguilla Rotary Club and a member of the Anguilla United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Brown Sr.; brothers, Clifford Brown, James Brown, Charles Brown and Robert E. Brown; sisters, Mary C. Yount, Jackie Perkins and Sue Savell; and a grandson, Clint Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret B. Brown of Anguilla; three sons, Dewey Brown and wife Kaye of Mobile, Paul Brown and wife Cathy of Rolling Fork and Dr. Andy Brown and wife Elizabeth of Flowood; one daughter, Billie K. Chatoney and husband Bill of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Pollye Bridges of Silver City; eight grandchildren, Mike Chatoney, Karen Williams, Tammy Hales, Farrar Walsh, Chad Brown, Chris Brown, Keith Brown and Lauren Randle; and 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Anguilla United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ron Gomillion and James Milner officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Pallbearers will be Chad Brown, Chris Brown, Keith Brown, Daniel Walsh, Mike Chatoney, Johnathan Randle, Mike Hales and Lanier Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Merlin Richardson, Treves Cooper, Britch Patterson and Woody May.
