Mississippi’s middle and high school students involved in volunteer and community service projects are being encouraged by state senators to apply for the 2010 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. The program, which aims to recognize community contributions of youths in grades 5-12, is sponsored by Prudential Financial Inc. and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Applications must be completed by Nov. 2 and be printed, signed and submitted to a middle or high school principal.
