George Lamar Prescott

SUMMIT — George Lamar Prescott, 81, a resident of Summit, died Oct. 22, 2009, at Camellia Estates in McComb. He was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Gillsburg, Miss. He was the son of Edward Coleman and Georgia Easley Prescott.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Lamar and Shirleen Prescott of Vicksburg and Stanley Wallace Prescott of Covington, Wash.; one sister and brother-in-law, Elise Prescott Massey Pierce and Bill of Felder’s Campground; one sister-in-law and her husband, Helen Roberts Watts and Albert “Fuzz” Watts of Summit; a sister-in-law, Eula Prescott of Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Nathan Lamar Prescott of Ocean Springs, Matthew Wayne Prescott and his wife, Laurie, of Vicksburg, and Brandon Prescott and Brittany Prescott, both of Covington.
Visitation is Sunday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb from 2 until 5 p.m. and continues Monday at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Allen Dearing officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Johnston Chapel U.M.C. Youth Program, 2093 Chapel Drive, Summit, MS 39666.
