Mr. McCullar marries Miss Irby on Sept. 19

Jason Lynn McCullar and Erin Jill Irby were married at 2 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009, at Emmaus Retreat Center at No Mistake Plantation in Satartia. The Rev. Lynn McCullar officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Edward J. “Buddy” Irby Jr. and the late Carlleen Millis Irby of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Susie H. Irby and the late Edward J. “Jack” Irby Sr. of Vicksburg and Carl and Verniece R. Millis of Panama City, Fla.
The groom is the son of Lynn and Naomi McCullar of Guin, Ala. He is the grandson of Jud and Sue Miller of Vernon, Ala., T.J. and Mavis McCullar of Hamilton, Ala., and the late Mary Miller of Guin.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were deep red and silver.
Maid of honor was Lori Ervin of Seattle, Wash. Bridesmaids were Lesley McClain of Cordova, Tenn., and Stephanie Weeks of Ashburn, Va.
Flower girls were Jasmine McCullar and Briana McCullar, both of Vicksburg.
Nathan McCullar of Guin served as best man. Groomsmen were Brandon McCullar of Detroit, Ala., and Nathan Irby of Raleigh, N.C.
Ushers were Heath Cockrell of Clinton and Dave Garber of Lake Charles, La.
Honorary mothers were Anne Gent of Vicksburg and Brenda Kelley of Meadville.
A reception followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Anne Gent, Carolyn Gent, Laura Cockrell and John Scott.
For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
They will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is employed at The Print Shop, and the groom is employed with Cappaert Manufactured Homes.
Rehearsal dinner
On the eve of the wedding, the bride’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner at Emmaus Retreat Center.
Showers
The bride was honored with a shower at First Baptist Church of Detroit, Ala. Hostesses were Naomi McCullar, Joann Spruiel, Pat Anthony, Henrietta McCullar, Maegan McCullar and Janet McCullar.
Susan Faye Irby, Dawn Meeks, Haley Brogdon and Hannah Meeks honored the bride with a shower at the Martha Vick House.
Charlie and Linda Caldwell hosted a cookout at their home in Vicksburg.
