Esther Franklin died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 95.

Mrs. Franklin was born in Vicksburg, but lived most of her adult life in Chicago, where she was a hairstylist. She had spent her retirement years in Vicksburg and was a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church on Baldwin Ferry Road.
