CARTHAGE — Robert James Hayes died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in Carthage. He was 57.

A resident of Carthage, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, Frank G. Hayes Sr. and Mary Lou Hayes; and a brother, Bill Cody Hayes.

He is survived by a daughter, Dawn Hayes of Philadelphia; six brothers, John Hayes of Pearl, Eugene Hayes of Natchez and Frank G. Hayes Jr., Eddie Lee Hayes, Roger Hayes and Leon Hayes, all of Vicksburg; four sisters, Mary Jordan and Mary Wooten, both of Vicksburg, Holly Kuhn of Carthage and Sheryldine Littlejohn of Texas; and grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Brooks of Carthage officiating. Burial, directed by Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home, will follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Friday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Dickinson, Billy Joe Hayes, Nathan Skipworth, Tony Hart, John Hart, Jimmy W. Hart and Jason Beard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Moss, Frank G. Hayes Jr. and Rodney Beard.
