Hardback books depicting Vicksburg’s 32 murals of historic scenes have arrived and are ready to be picked up at Biedenharn Candy Company and Museum.

“We’re so excited,” said Nellie Caldwell, former chairman of the Riverfront Mural Committee, which organized the artworks that were painted by Louisiana artist Robert Dafford.

“They look better than we had hoped,” Caldwell said. “I’m very proud of them.”

The murals were unveiled one-by-one along the floodwall at City Front between 2002 and this year.

In addition to the pre-ordered books, extra copies are available for $30 each at the museum at 1107 Washington St.

The books were printed in Missouri, Caldwell said.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
