RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Albert Thomas died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2009, in Riverside, Calif. He was 56.

Mr. Thomas was born in Hollandale and a 1974 graduate of Rolling Fork High School. He was a truck driver for KLLM Trucking Inc., for more than  20 years and received numerous safety awards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Thomas and Earnest Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Thomas of Riverside; two daughters, Briuana Thomas of Riverside and Catena Thomas of Brandon; one son, Kwajaleon Thomas of Jackson; four sisters, Emma Thomas, Dorothy Thomas and Barbara Thomas, all of Byram, and Geneva Williams of Chicago; two brothers, David Smith of San Francisco and Larry Thomas of Chicago; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Cross M.B. Church in Nitta Yuma with the Rev. Elijah Eason, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Nitta Yuma Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3 until 5 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
