Leandrew Drake Sr. and Jenny V. Drake of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberlee Michele Drake to Davebriell Donte’ Yates of Vicksburg. Mr. Yates is the son of Linda Williams and David and Cynthia Hall, all of Vicksburg.

Miss Drake is the granddaughter of the late Irvin “Buddy” Wilson and Sarah Wilson and Leon and Bertha Drake, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Yates is the grandson of the late Maurice “Lewis” Yates and Walnita Yates of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She was a freshman cheerleader, freshman and sophomore class president and a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, the band,  and the Gator Girl Dance Team.

She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., University Activities Council, Student Government Association, Dixie Darlings Dance Team, Southern Miss Dance Team, Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society, International Field Experiences Teacher Candidacy Award-Europe.

Miss Drake is a theatre and dance director and fine arts department choir director for Claiborne County Public School System at Port Gibson High School.

The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta. He is a graduate of Hinds Community College, where he was a member of the cross-country track team and Mississippi State University.

Mr. Yates is the owner of Donte Yates, LLC.

The wedding will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 19, 2009, at Rainbow Event Center. A reception will follow at Rainbow Event Center.
