Jack Gordon Evans Jr. died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

Mr. Evans was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He owned and operated Evans Construction Inc. and was a former member and past president of the Home Builders Association.

A graduate of Mississippi State University, he was a veteran of the Army. He had served as vice president of the Hilldale Water Association. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Callie Evans; a daughter, Diane Rene Evans; and a grandson, Caleb Layne Gordon Ryals.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon H. Evans of Vicksburg; one daughter, Jackie Evans Baswell of Vicksburg; and two granddaughters, Hailie Baswell and Madisyne Ryals, both of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Macon Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Shane R. Rowland, David Downey, John Moss, Bradley Barnes, Johnny Lindigrin, Larry Winningham, Glenn McKay and Richard Lane.
