Evira Armstrong Taylor

SARDIS — Evira Armstrong Taylor died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford. She was 44.

A native and resident of Sardis, Mrs. Taylor worked as a caregiver for The Baddour Center in Senatobia. She was a member of Cherry Street M.B. Church in Como.

She was preceded in death by her father, R.B. Armstrong Sr.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Taylor of Sardis; one daughter, Kaiesha Armstrong of Sardis; two sons, Kegan Armstrong and Triston Armstrong, both of Sardis; her mother, Veter Armstrong of Senatobia; five sisters, Jane “Jeanette” Rogers, Sylvia Walton and Joyce Gates, all of Como, Quentina Ware of Nesbit and Marie Curtis of Memphis; three brothers, Ricky Armstrong of Sardis, R.B. Armstrong Jr. of Como and Walter Armstrong of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Askew Grove M.B. Church in Longtown with the Rev. Eugene Stovall officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Cooley’s Mortuary in Batesville with family hour from 5 until 6 and Monday at the church from noon until the service.
