Griffin Lamar Dykes

ROLLING FORK — Griffin Lamar Dykes died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 75.

Born in Jasper County, Mr. Dykes had been a Rolling Fork resident since 1960. He owned and operated Dykes Farm Repair Service.

He was a veteran of the Army and a member of First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle D. Howell; and two brothers, Vernon L. Dykes and Newton Dykes.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Nichols Dykes of Rolling Fork; three daughters, Dawn D. Petz and husband Carl of Huttig, Ark., Leslie Jo Anne Dykes of El Dorado, Ark., and Robin D. Willingham and husband Charles of Grace; three sisters, Nora E. Martin of Eden, Dorothy Owen of Memphis and Janice Methvin of Grenada; two grandsons, Kenneth Willingham and wife Amy of Summit and Rodney Willingham of Rolling Fork; and four great-grandchildren, Paul Willingham, Skylar Willingham, Leah Willingham and Adam Willingham.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Millard L. Caulder officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Rolling Fork. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Willingham, Rodney Willingham, Billy Martin, Tony Howell, Clint Owen, Brent Owen, Dennis Methvin and Raymond Dykes.
