Mary Dotson died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.

Mrs. Dotson was born in Claiborne County. She was a homemaker and a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church, Heroines of Jericho, Rose of Sharon, Order of the Eastern Star and a number of Christian Home societies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Q.C. Dotson; a son, L.C. Dotson; three brothers, Fred Dorsey, Wash Dorsey and Mack Young; and her parents, Wash Sr. and Ada Smith Dorsey.

Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie D. Hopkins of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Dorsey family.
