Tommye Dale Favre of Gautier has been appointed by Gov. Haley Barbour to the Mississippi State Personnel Board.

Prior to her appointment, Favre was, for five years, executive director of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security. She retired in September. She also spent 16 years at Mississippi Power Company and was president of the Mississippi Power Education Foundation.

In 2007, she was named one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women by the Mississippi Business Journal.

Favre has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and two master’s degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi.

She has served on the advisory board for the Certified Public Managers Program for the State Personnel Board.
