James W. Dove died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 76.

A Memphis native, Mr. Dove had lived in Vicksburg for the past 32 years. He retired from Anderson-Tully Lumber Co. after 40 years of service and was employed at McDonald’s on Pemberton Boulevard. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball and was an avid bowler.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of the Deaf in Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie James and Jewel Patton Dove; a brother, Johnny Dove; and two sisters, Ruth Gilbert and Joyce Ann Ball.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Allen Dove of Vicksburg; one daughter, Cindy (Mike) Patterson of Vicksburg; a sister, Betty Jones of Smyrna, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Alexis Patterson and Brooke Patterson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Herbie Bivalacqua, Ricky Butler, Chris Butler, Chris Entwisle, Paul Smith and Wylie Pritchard Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Allen, Rodney Jones, Larry Vinson, Dr. Russell Barnes, Calvin Langley, Robbie Summers, millworkers of ATCO Dept. 66 and employees of McDonald’s on Pemberton Boulevard.
