A Vicksburg police car sits with its lights on to keep traffic from getting close to a water main break on Belva Drive at about 5 Saturday afternoon. The water shot about 50 feet into the air on the residential thoroughfare about a mile from U.S. 61 South. City of Vicksburg public works employees arrived minutes later and stopped the leak to make repairs. Michael White of Water & Gas Administration said most water customers in the Warrenton area were without water, and service was expected to be restored later Saturday night. He did not know the cause of the break.
