Mr. Carter, Spears are wed

Reico Mitchel Carter and Kimberly Dionne Spears were married at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2009, at Druid Hills United Methodist Church in Atlanta. The Rev. Jeffrey Easley officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Spears of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Green of Vicksburg.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby M. Carter of Burkesville, Ky. He is the grandson of Olene Beauchamp of Glasgow, Ky.
Music for the ceremony was presented by members of the Phoenix String Quartet.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were eggplant and claret red.
Maid of honor was Alena White of Tampa, Fla. Bridesmaids were Tamara Nall of New York, N.Y., and Leea Nash of Los Angeles.
Arthur Alard of Dallas, Texas, served as best man. Groomsmen were Frederick Fields and Mychal Thompson, both of Louisville, Ky.
The bride’s nephew, Raphael Spears of Fort Meade, Md., served as program attendant.
Readers were Kawmi Fisher, cousin of the bride, of Birmingham, Ala., and Lisa Kugler, host sister of the bride, of Eckernfoerde, Germany.
A reception followed at The Carter Center.
For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Charleston, S.C. They will make their home in Atlanta.
Showers
The bride was honored with a room-to-room shower at Battlefield Inn. Hostesses were Sherry Fisher, aunt of the bride, and Lorene Tolliver, Dr. Rosetta Gladney and Margaret Denton. Special guests were family and friends.
Alena White and Rosemary Spears honored the bride with a cooking shower at Regency Hills Clubhouse in Atlanta. Special guests were friends, colleagues and church members.
