First St., Mead, Okla., hangs his head after his 1993 Jeep Cherokee was run over by a Peterbilt 18-wheeler while both were westbound on the Interstate 20 bridge over the Mississippi River at about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. The truck, driven by Jerry Burns, 57, of Wolfe City, Texas, attempted to get around the Jeep just as the lanes are reduced from two to one for construction, said Vicksburg Police Department traffic investigator Eric Paymon.
