Mary Frances Galvin died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 84.

Ms. Galvin was a West Virginia native and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 21 years. She retired from the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant, having served as an Army nurse. A bird watcher, she was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by friends, Cindy  and Benny Grantham and Margaret Botsworth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Friday until the service.
