Nathaniel Truitt

PORT GIBSON — Nathaniel Truitt died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 65.
Mr. Truitt was a teacher and coach in the Claiborne County Schools for a number of years. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer Turner and Daisy Truitt.
Survivors include two sisters, caregiver Dr. Annie Kilcrease and Nora O’Quinn, both of Port Gibson; his brother and caregiver, Carl Lipscomb of Port Gibson; two daughters, Natalie Truitt-Randle of Clinton and T’lea Truitt of Port Gibson; three stepsisters, Bobbie Jackson and Wessie Green, both of Chicago, and Bessie Ratliff of Port Gibson; one grandchild; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service.
