Neal Fowler Sr.

Neal Fowler Sr. died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 70.
Mr. Fowler was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a graduate of Carr Central High School and Mississippi College. He served in many capacities from 1980 until 2001 for the AFL-CIO and the United Transportation Union. He was a former employee of Illinois Central Railroad and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nita Fowler of Vicksburg; four sons, Rocky Fowler of Vicksburg, Mike Fowler of Conway, Ark., Paul Fowler of Gladewater, Texas, and Brian Fowler of Fishers, Ind.; one daughter, Debbie Murphy of Vicksburg; three brothers, Jack Fowler and Eddie Fowler, both of Vicksburg, and Ronnie Fowler of Lytle, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
