Viola Rush Jackson died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Jackson was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, U.S. 61 Bypass.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Jackson.

Survivors include six daughters, Mary Wilson, Claretha Jackson, Mary Ann Truitt, Ann Mary Nunnally and Vanessa Harris, all of Vicksburg, and Alma Holden of San Francisco; four sons, Len Jackson, Carl Jackson, Jerry Jackson and James Jackson, all of Vicksburg; one brother, Leonard Rush of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends including the Rush, Smith, Sweet and Ross families and Flora Johnson of San Fransico.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
