Mr. Wiles, Miss Melton are wed

Warner Lee Wiles and Jennifer Erin Melton were married in a candlelight ceremony at 6 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009, at Christ Episcopal Church. The Revs. Chan Osborn de Anaya and Susan Disharoon officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Melton of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James R. Melton and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ferguson, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Dennis P. Wiles, the late Tina Warren Wiles and Christina Bottino Wiles, all of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Mary Wiles and the late Warner Wiles and Frances Pierce, all of Memphis, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bottino of Vicksburg.

A program of nuptial music was presented by Jim Robinson, pianist; Nicholas Blake, violinist; Julia Blake, soloist; and the Christ Episcopal Church choir.

Escorted by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were chocolate brown with hues of red, orange and yellow.

Maid of honor was Caitlyn Ferguson of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was Mollie Rhodes of Helena, Ark.

Bridesmaids were Jordan Melton, Lauren Wiles and Mary Wiles, all of Vicksburg; Kelly Lewis of Flowood; and Diana Tate of Brandon. Junior bridesmaids were Maggie Rhodes and Sarah Rhodes, both of Helena.

The groom’s father and Andy Wiles, brother of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Christopher Melton, Jonathan Sellers and Curtis Robertson, all of Vicksburg; Phillip Temple of Butler, Ala.; and Kyle Cullen of Austin, Texas. Honorary groomsman was the late Derrick Beard of Vicksburg.

Flower girl was Carol Jean Norton of Waynesboro. Ring bearer was Kyle Bennett of Ridgeland.

Communion ushers were Vernon Anaya and Dustin Brown, both of Vicksburg, and Earl Lum of Utica.

Scripture reader was Steven George. Prayers were read by Mr. and Mrs. James R. Miller.

Serena Bonnette of New Orleans and Eden Engler and Mrs. Robert M. Engler, both of Vicksburg, served as program attendants.

Lay Eucharistic ministers were David Benway and Tim Fagerburg.

Serving as acolytes were Haley Smith and Jeneal Qualls. Crucifer was Michael Dollar, and banner bearer was Jarryd Smith.

Betsy Harbaugh of Vicksburg served as special wedding assistant. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Chaney.

A reception followed at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. Guests were entertained with music by The Groove Agents of Shreveport.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Antigua. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride, a graduate of Warren Central High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech and hearing science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Doctor of Audiology from the University of Memphis. She is an audiologist at Magnolia Speech School in Jackson.

The groom, a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University. He is an engineer at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

Rehearsal dinner

The groom’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner at his home for members of the bridal party, family and out-of-town guests on the eve of the wedding.

Showers

The Wiles family honored the couple with a shower in Memphis.

Co-workers of the bride honored her with a shower at Magnolia Speech School.
