Dorothy Wilkerson died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 71.

Mrs. Wilkerson was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a member of High Praise Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred A. Sr. and Pearl James; and her brother, Fred A. James Jr.

Survivors include her husband, James W. Wilkerson Sr. of Vicksburg; a son, James W. Wilkerson Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Betty Boone of Clinton and Jeanette Strait of Newton; three brothers, Robert James of Mound and Charley James and Sammy James, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Pearl James and Katie Smith, both of Vicksburg; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Bosarge officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Anthony James, Willie Smith, Zachery Smith, Ron Strait, David Strait and Prentiss James.
