Virginia Louise Carson died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 89.

Mrs. Carson was a sales clerk for most of her working years and a member of Highland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Carson; her parents, Walter and Minnie Fleming Edmundson; a sister, Laverne Wooten; and a brother, Wesley Edmundson.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Miller of Memphis, Rose Ruth of West Richland, Wash., and Teresa Bartley of Tampa, Fla.; four sons, Eddie Carson of Raymond, Willis Carson of Stevenville, Texas, Ricky Carson of Vicksburg and Sammy Carson of Grapevine, Texas; her brother, Freddie Edmundson of Vardaman, Miss.; two sisters, Polly Keaton of Madison and Catherine Lee of Brandon; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Bri an Ivey officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 7 at the funeral home. Burial at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodland, Miss. will be at 3 p.m. with Jeff Gilder officiating.

Pallbearers will be Highland Baptist Church deacons.
