ROLLING FORK — M.P. Jones died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Heritage Manor in Rolling Fork. He was 78.

Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Kendrick Kendell Jones of Kenner, La., and Columbus Flood of Cary; four daughters, Laura Jean Sheriff of Jackson and Miriam Paulette Flood, Queen Ester Moore and Arlene Jones, all of Rolling Fork; six brothers, Odell Jones, Melvin Jones, Charles Jones and Edward Jones, all of Rolling Fork, Harvey Jones of Flowood and Albert Jones of Chicago; eight sisters, Daisy Jones, Delores Bell and Lillie Usher, all of Rolling Fork, Rubye Parker and Christine Buchanan, both of Vicksburg, Edna Henard of Chicago, Ruth Bailey of Sacramento, Calif., and Bertha Victor of Flushing, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Monday at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Elijah Eason officiating. Burial will follow at Cynthia Diana Cemetery in Anguilla under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.
